Tony Hsieh was born on December 12, 1973, in Urbana, Illinois.
His parents were immigrants from Taiwan. Father was a chemical engineer, mother was a social worker.
Hsieh moved to California when he was five. Grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Attended Harvard University for a Computer Science degree and graduated in 1995.
